Improving website visitor experience

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007

Few days earlier we’ve installed a great tool called Google Analytics. This will not only allow us to look at our stats in a different (and nicer) way, but will also give us a chance to see how well the visitors are guided though the site, why they come to us, where they come from, why they leave the website and where they leave the website. Although this tool does not analyse the website logfiles (instead, there is a javascript tracker, called Urchin tracker, installed on every page), the overall approach to the analysis of the browsing patterns is revolutionary and is unique from any other analysis tool on the web.

We’ll keep you posted on the results once we gather sufficient amount of data to be able to make good conclusions.

Instantly Recover Windows Live Messenger Passwords

Oxford, England - September 2007 - Reactive Software has released Windows Live Password Recovery, a utility that instantly locates and decrypts the Windows Live Messenger, MSN Messenger, and Windows Messenger passwords stored on your computer. The program works when the “Remember My Password” checkbox is ticked in Windows Live Messenger, and you’re able to log in automatically, without having to type your password. Many people rely upon the computer to store their password, and realize later that knowing their password is critical to their business. Windows Live Password Recovery rescues you from these crises.

Many desktop owners let their computers remember their Windows Live Messenger password. When they purchase a laptop, and want to use the same password on their new computer, they can’t find their password. Windows Live Password Recovery can locate and decrypt their password instantly. Even if Windows Live Messenger has been uninstalled from the original computer, there is still a good chance that the password is saved and recoverable.

Similar crises occur when family members go away to college, get married, or relocate for other reasons. Windows Live Password Recovery can recover passwords from multiple accounts on a single computer. The program supports all versions of Windows Live Messenger, including Messenger Beta, MSN Messenger, and Windows Messenger.

Windows Live Password Recovery can help people who use Windows Live Messenger and Hotmail on their home computer. Often, they wish to access Hotmail from another computer, but don’t remember their password. The program can instantly recover their password, and allow them to access their Hotmail from an Internet cafe, a vacation hotel room, or a client’s office.

Windows Live Password Recovery is a valuable tool for business managers who need to access employees’ password-protected accounts. Whether the employee accidentally or deliberately lost track of their password, the business manager can quickly unlock the information, and gain access to the account. Similarly, Windows Live Password Recovery will help law enforcement and forensics professionals gain access to password-protected accounts.

There is a simple way to determine if Windows Live Password Recovery will work on a particular computer. Simply download, install, and run the free trial version. The program will tell you whether or not it was able to recover your lost password. If the program was successful, you can buy a software license for $15(US), and the program will show you the password that it recovered.

Windows Live Password Recovery runs under Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista, costs $15(US) for a single-user license, and may be purchased securely online from http://www.windows-live-password-recovery.com/. You can download a free trial version from the same web address. For more information on the full line of password recovery software from Reactive Software, visit http://www.reactive-software.com/.

Software Business makes people happy

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

A thought that I have every time I wake up in the morning:

Software business is one of the few industries in the universe that can make people feel they are special and they live to enjoy their lives. The on-line business unlike any other gives us a chance to do it from any part of the world. And what’s more, pretty much anyone can do it. You don’t need an overly huge budget to start up. All you need is a bright idea.

Isn’t it nice being able to do the work you enjoy doing from the location that you enjoy staying at? Permanently.
Be it from a wooden house in a forest near Anchorage, Alaska or from a skyscraper in Frankfurt.

You choose your location. You choose your time schedule. You choose your destiny.

It makes my day! Every day!

Migrating from TheBat! to Mozilla Thunderbird

Tuesday, August 21st, 2007

TheBat! from RitLabs used to be the best email client for individuals and small business since ‘97 and until last year. There was simply no better solution that would be as compelling in price and features. We too have purchased the licenses and used these over some time. But as the time goes on new alternatives are being developed and made available to public for free. Moreover TheBat versions we used are no longer meeting our feature requirements. In order to get these new features and bug fixes, we would need to purchase an upgrade.

Thunderbird, as we discovered was flexible and feature-rich enough to meet all our requirements. So why pay for an upgrade if we can get a nice equivalent for free?

As an overall, I do not see a big business potential in shareware e-mail clients. The future looks towards web-based email for personal communication, Thunderbird as the most frequently used client in small business and MS Outlook as the main communication/collaboration tool for medium business and enterprise. Reactive Software Team

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

Thought it would be nice to give a short intro to our team.

  • Eugene - business development, product architect

Eugene founded the company. His job is to do anything that the guys below aren’t doing (that means being a secretary as well :-) )
Drinking beer with Partners is his only hobby.

  • Josh - systems programming, algorithms

Josh is invisible. Working only during nights and always hiding his identity to others.
If we think something is impossible he will give an answer in assembly code. Actually he hates to return his work in anything other than assembly code.
On the personal side, he loves role-playing games and listening to punk rock music.

  • Alex - Windows, WinAPI programming

Our Windows man. If your program is big he’ll crunch it using only WinAPI. That’s why all our programs are so small (in kilobytes :-) )
Alex likes hiking (…and drinking with Eugene)

  • Maria - Online marketing, promotion, PR, customer support

Maria makes sure our good products are converting into good sales. Marketing is vital for todays’ online software business and our team appreciates the importance of this (although Josh sometimes still mentions that his job is more intellectually demanding…)

We also have a team of freelance researchers (doing regular assignments for us): Max, Pavel, Danny and Michael.

Few words about our blog

Saturday, July 28th, 2007

Instead of doing a news section, we have decided to go off and create our own blog. After all, life is not all about software and apart from news on our updates and new programs, we could show that we are real people living real lives and doing other interesting things, not just making software.

We hope you find it interesting to read and feel free to ask questions in the comments.
